Christmas cards for your aunt
Your aunt is the relative who talks to you like an adult before anyone else does. She slips you a drink when you are fifteen and a useful piece of advice when you are twenty-five. She also remembers things you would rather she did not.
So make the card warm and a bit sly. Thank her for the advice, the dinners, the way she said the thing your mother could not. If she is the glamorous one, or the one who has a spare room for everyone, say so. Send it as a link she can open on her phone, and schedule it for Christmas morning so she gets it before she starts basting.

Questions people ask
What should I put in a Christmas card to my aunt?
Say thank you for something she did that nobody else did: the honest chat, the weekend away, the money for your first car. Add a line about seeing her soon, and sign off warmly. She will keep it.
Is it okay to be cheeky in a card to my aunt?
If she is the cheeky one in the family, she will expect it. Tease her about the wine, the stories or the handbag, then end with something sincere. Aunts usually appreciate being treated as a person and not just a title.
What if my aunt and I are not very close?
Keep the card short and kind. Mention one shared memory or a family detail, wish her a good Christmas, and leave it there. You do not have to pretend closeness to be thoughtful.
