Christmas cards for your granddaughter
A granddaughter will treasure a card from you in a way you might not see until years later. She may keep it in a shoebox with the shells and the drawings, long after Christmas has packed up. So write it for the person she is becoming, and for the one reading over her shoulder.
Choose a front that suits her current favourite thing, whether that is ballet, bugs, books or something she explained to you in detail on the phone. Inside, say what you love about her and what you remember. Schedule it for Christmas morning, and let her mum or dad open it with her.

Questions people ask
What should I write in a Christmas card for my granddaughter?
Say something warm and specific. A memory from the year, a thing she said that made you laugh, or a plan for next time you see her. Then tell her you love her. She will remember that you noticed, more than the exact words.
Is it all right to send a granddaughter's card to her parents?
Yes, and it is often the best way. Send the link to her mum or dad, schedule it for Christmas morning, and they can open it with her. She gets to hear the inside message in a familiar voice, which is half the pleasure.
Can I send one card each to several grandchildren?
You can. Pick a different card for each child, write a separate message inside, and send them one at a time. That way each grandchild gets a card about them, not the same one with a different name on it.
