Sealed with wax, read aloud by Santa

A Letter from Santa

Written by the fire at the North Pole, just for them: their name, their town, the brilliant things they did this year, and a word from Rudolph. They break Santa's seal, read his letter, and then press one big button to hear Santa read it to them.

How the magic works

Santa's study by firelight: an oak desk with a quill, parchment letters and a brass lamp, a fire crackling under the stockings.

You tell Santa about them

Their first name, their town, something brilliant they did this year, something they are working on and what they are hoping for. The letter writes itself as you type.

A crimson envelope with gold edges and a red wax seal stamped S, beside a North Pole postmark and a gold pen.

It arrives from the North Pole

A private link opens a red-and-gold envelope with a North Pole postmark. They break Santa's wax seal, and the letter unfolds on his own paper.

Three reindeer standing in the snow outside a glowing red North Pole post office under the northern lights.

Santa reads it to them

One big button, and Santa reads the whole letter aloud, saying their name the way you told him to. Print it for under the tree, with a Nice List certificate.

Tell Santa about them

A few lines is all Santa needs. Watch the letter write itself on the right as you go, and change anything you like before it's sealed.

About them
So Santa says it right out loud, like MEE-ah or zah-RAH.
The town or suburb only. Never a street address.
Their year
Finish the sentence "This year, you…", like "learned to ride your bike".
Like "helped Grandma in the garden".
Santa encourages, never scolds. Like "being patient when things are tricky".
Santa says the elves have noted it. He never promises it will come.
A few magic touches (all optional)
Rudolph says hello.
Like dinosaurs, or the beach.
Santa's writing paper

We only ask what goes in the letter. Never a surname, school, address or photo. Everything is deleted after 31 March.

The Workshop · The North Pole

Dear Mia,

Of all the letters on my desk at the North Pole, the one about Mia from Ballarat made me smile the widest. The reindeer are snoring in the barn, and Mrs Claus says I may stay up late tonight to write to you. Six is a marvellous age. I remember being six, when my beard was much shorter.

I heard that you learned to swim without floaties. I read it out at breakfast, and Mrs Claus was so proud she gave everybody an extra pancake.

The elves tell me you have been practising being patient with your little brother. Good for you! Learning something new is like learning to fly a sleigh: wobbly at first, then wonderful. Every try counts, and I can already see you getting better.

A little bird, well, a little elf, told me you are wishing for a red bike with a bell. The elves have written it in the big book beside your name. Whatever Christmas morning brings, it will be full of love, because that is the real magic.

Keep being kind, keep being brilliantly you, and on Christmas Eve, please go to sleep nice and early. The reindeer are very shy, and they only land when everyone is snug in bed.

With love and a twinkle,

Santa

P.S. Rudolph would like to say a special hello to Biscuit.

What we keep, and for how long

Only what goes in the letter:

  • their first name, how to say it, their age and their town;
  • the things you tell Santa about their year and their wish;
  • any pet, brother or sister, friend or favourite thing you add;
  • Santa's recording of the letter, kept privately.

And never:

  • a surname, school, address or photo of your child;
  • your child's email: the link is yours to give them;
  • anything used for advertising, or shared with anyone.

Everything is deleted after 31 March 2027 (a letter you never pay for, after 30 days). Santa's voice is made by ElevenLabs from the letter's words; card payments are handled by Stripe. More in our privacy policy.

Good to know

Does Santa promise them a present?

Never. Santa says the elves have made a careful note of their wish, and that the best part of Christmas morning is the surprise. He never says a particular present is coming, so nothing in the letter can be a disappointment.

What does Santa say about the thing they're working on?

Only encouragement. Santa tells them the trickiest things take the most practice, that every try counts, and that he is cheering for them. He never scolds, and the form refuses words that tell a child off.

Will every letter be the same?

No. Every part of the letter has several versions written for Santa, so brothers and sisters get different letters. Press "Another way of saying it" to hear Santa put it differently: the facts stay yours.

How does Santa know how to say their name?

Tell us how it sounds, like MEE-ah, and Santa reads it that way. The letter itself is always spelled the way you spelled it.

How do they open it?

From a private link you give them, on a phone, tablet or computer. No account and no app. You can open it yourself first: you'll see exactly what they will.

Can I print it?

Yes. There's a print view sized for A4 paper, to fold into an envelope or leave under the tree, and a matching Nice List certificate with their name on it.

Is it accessible?

The envelope is a real button that works with a keyboard and a screen reader, the letter is real text, Santa's reading plays in a normal audio player, and there is no animation at all for anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion.
